I was at the Millennium Hotel in Knightsbridge a few weeks back for some Afternoon tea with a twist, 'Dim Sum Afternoon Tea' in celebration of the Chinese New Year. In the recent years Afternoon Tea as become very popular, and it's not just for the rich and posh any more, more normal people (like me) are now buying into it. With many restaurants promoting afternoon tea and offering great deals, it's no longer just about cake, scones and real tea; restaurants are now offering more options giving consumers a wider range of options to sample without breaking the bank.

...So on a cold Sunday I marched down to Le Chinois Restaurant and Bar situated on the first floor in the Millennium hotel at Knightsbridge west london. The restaurant offers Morden Chinese cuisine in an exclusive setting, the restaurant was inspired by the "award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant at the Orchard hotel in Singapore" Le Chinois restaurant offers delicious dishes with a warm ambience, as well as the à la carte menu, there I also a dim sum menu, lunch menu and sharing menus to choose from with drinks menu that offer a selection of fine wines, beers and cocktail so there something for every occasion.

I was welcomed with a Champagne reception to help shake off the cold as I mingled and chitchat with the other lovely ladies. After we were all introduced, we were escorted to our private section that was set out for us. We started off with Chinese traditional Oloong and Jasmine tea which was very soothing and the scent was gorgeous! Then in comes the pretty 3 tier platter spread of Crispy chicken stick, Crispy shredded duck, spring rolls, Sautéed prawns coated with wasabi, Minced chicken wrapped in lettuce, Crispy scallop rolls, BBQ pork bun (Chai Siu Boa), Red bean and pandan mochi cake, Fresh sliced mango, Prawns with Passion Fruit Colis (dip fried), Steamed minced pork dumplings (Siu Mai), and Traditional Peking Duck. It's looked so pretty and well presented that all we wanted to do was take pictures! (I mean it's our job! We take pictures for living lol). And of course we weren't expecting a shabby presentation from a 4* élite restaurant, so we were really impressed with the presentation and hospitality by the restaurant staffs who were hands on to help with any query.

You can enjoy a Dim Sum Afternoon Tea at Le Chinois for £25pp, it an absolute perfect spot for a catch up with an old/new friend or for that special occaion with a touch of class. Take a look at the options available on the menu.
